Start with your skating surface
Before comparing colours or profiles, think about where you skate most often.
- Outdoor paths and rough surfaces: Softer wheels absorb more vibration and provide dependable grip over asphalt, paths and uneven concrete.
- Indoor rinks and tracks: Firmer wheels generally deliver a faster, more responsive roll on smooth surfaces. The right hardness will depend on the floor and the level of grip you prefer.
- Skate parks and street spots: Park wheels are designed for speed, durability and controlled slides on bowls, ramps, ledges and smooth concrete.
- Roller derby and speed skating: Look for a balance of roll, grip and agility that suits the floor, your position and your skating style.
Wheel hardness is shown as a durometer rating, such as 78A or 101A. A lower number indicates a softer wheel; a higher number indicates a harder wheel. Diameter matters too: larger wheels tend to maintain momentum, while smaller wheels can feel more agile and responsive.

Flow Park 99A and Street 89A Wheels
The Flow Roller Skate Wheels come in two hardnesses within the same 58mm x 32mm platform.

Evolve 59mm Wheels
The Evolve 59mm Roller Skate Wheels feature a 59mm x 38mm derby profile and a lightweight polycarbonate hub. Available hardnesses range from 88A to 98A, making it easier to tune grip and roll for different floors and skating preferences.
Choose Evolve 59mm if: you want a responsive derby wheel with quick speed changes and multiple hardness options.
FX1 60mm 92A Wheels
The FX1 Roller Skate Wheels are lightweight roller derby wheels built for quick acceleration. The 60mm x 38mm profile and high-rebound urethane create an agile, attacking feel.
Choose FX1 if: you want a responsive derby wheel that gets up to speed quickly.
Compatibility note: FX1 wheels use mini bearings rather than standard 608 bearings. Check your bearing setup before ordering.
Check Compatibility Before You Buy
Before changing wheels, check the diameter and width your skates can accommodate, as well as the bearing type you need. Most wheels in this selection use standard 608 bearings; the FX1 is the exception and requires mini bearings. Bearings are not included unless the product page states otherwise.
If you are moving between very different surfaces, consider keeping dedicated indoor and outdoor wheel sets. That gives you more predictable performance and helps avoid unnecessary wear on your indoor wheels.
