At the heart of Vaypor is hand-laid, unidirectional Toray carbon from Japan. This is not generic carbon. Toray is known worldwide for its consistency, strength-to-weight ratio, and performance in high-end sporting and aerospace applications.

By hand-laying the carbon, we control fiber orientation with precision. The result is a carbon fiber boot that is exceptionally stiff in the direction of power transfer while maintaining controlled flex where needed.

Forged Carbon Base with Power Ridges

The base of the Vaypor uses forged carbon technology. This process creates a dense, highly compact carbon structure that enhances impact resistance and strength without unnecessary bulk.

Integrated power ridges further reinforce the structure. These ridges increase stiffness and stability under load, especially during full sprint acceleration and high-speed cornering. The boot holds its shape under extreme pressure, giving you confidence at top speed.

Aluminum mounting blocks are embedded into the base for secure, durable frame attachment. They provide reliable thread engagement and maintain alignment under repeated high-torque loads, which is essential for serious inline racing.

Durolite Outer Skin, Advanced Japanese Material

The outer skin of Vaypor is made from Durolite, a premium Japanese material that is lighter, stronger, and more flexible than leather.

Leather stretches over time. Durolite is engineered to resist that. Combined with the anti-stretch material bonded beneath it, the outer shell maintains its structure season after season.

One-Piece Construction, Built for Performance

Vaypor is made using Bont’s One-Piece Construction method. This process is significantly more labor-intensive than mainstream two-piece skate construction, but the performance difference is clear.

In a typical two-piece boot, the liner and outer skin are glued onto a pre-made base. Much of the stitching is cosmetic and does not contribute to structure.

In Vaypor, the stitching is structural. The expert sewer who works on this boot has one role only, stitching. The stitching binds the Durolite outer skin to the anti-stretch material that is bonded directly to the carbon shell.

Vaypor is built on a new, narrower last. This refined shape is designed for skaters who want a more precise, race-oriented fit.

A narrower last improves:

Advanced Closure System

Vaypor features a custom made buckle with a new replaceable strap. This allows you to fine-tune tension across the instep and replace the strap easily if needed.

Wide, flat eyelets distribute lace pressure and prevent pull-through. They are designed to handle high tension without deforming the upper.

    Technologie - Carbon

    Du hast dich schon gefragt, was Carbon eigentlich ist? Und heißt es „Carbon Fiber“ oder „Carbon Fibre“? Zur Klarstellung: Fibre und Fiber bedeuten dasselbe. Fibre ist die britische, Fiber die US-amerikanische Schreibweise.

    Carbon ist ein revolutionäres Material. Es ist so stark wie Stahl, bei einem Bruchteil des Gewichts.

    Carbon besteht überwiegend aus miteinander verbundenen Kohlenstoffatomen. Die Längsachse der Fasern besteht zum Beispiel aus Teilchen, die verbunden und ausgerichtet wurden. Anschließend wird ein Garn gedreht, in dem mehrere Tausend Fäden zusammenlaufen. Zum Schluss wird aus dem Garn ein Gewebe gewebt.

    Wir bei Bont produzieren seit 1989 Schuhe auf Carbonbasis. Und vor allem: Wir beziehen unser Carbon ausschließlich vom weltweit führenden Carbonhersteller, Toray aus Japan.

    3k Plain ist ein eng gewebtes Carbon, das häufig in der Luftfahrtindustrie und in Bont Schuhen verwendet wird.

    Ein extrem steifes, leichtes und anpassungsfähiges Carbon. Wir verwenden unidirektionales Carbon in unseren Schuhen, wodurch wir das Carbon in einer von uns gewählten Richtung legen können. So entstehen extrem steife und leichte Schuhe. Zum Beispiel der Vaypor.

    Eine günstigere Form von Carbon. 12K Plain Carbon ist nicht so stark wie 3k Plain Carbon, wodurch der Preis rund 20% günstiger liegt.

     

    FALSCHDARSTELLUNG IN DER BRANCHE

    Früher wusstest du bei einem Schuh aus Kunststoff oder Nylon genau, was du bekommst. Heute jedoch, mit all den teuren modernen Materialien, wird es immer schwerer zu erkennen, was in deinem Produkt steckt. Dadurch bekommst du möglicherweise nicht das, was du zu kaufen glaubtest.

    Hier sind ein paar praktische Hinweise dazu, wie Hersteller Materialien einsetzen. Anders gesagt: Nimm diese Punkte als Überlegung für deinen nächsten Kauf mit.


    Eine Lage Carbon
    Oft stellen Hersteller Carbonschuhe falsch dar. Zum Beispiel kann die Basis des Schuhs aus spritzgegossenem Kunststoff, Nylon oder Fiberglas bestehen und ist meist mit einer einzigen Lage Carbon überzogen. Wenn du einen Schuh kaufst und siehst, dass er eine Carbonbasis hat, ist leider die Wahrscheinlichkeit groß, dass nur die äußere Lage aus Carbon ist.

    Unidirektionales Carbon
    Eine Vielzahl von Schuhen wird als unidirektionales Carbon vermarktet. Viele dieser Schuhe verwenden jedoch spritzgegossenes Carbon im Kunststoff und nennen das unidirektionales Carbon. Wir halten das für einen Missbrauch des Begriffs. Bei Bont zum Beispiel bedeutet unidirektionales Carbon: Carbonfasern, bei denen alle Fäden in dieselbe Richtung verlaufen.

    Silbernes Fiberglas
    Viele Schuhe nutzen eine spritzgegossene Kunststoffbasis mit ein paar Carbonpartikeln darin. Außerdem haben diese Schuhe typischerweise eine einzige Lage silbernes Fiberglas als äußere Schicht. Trotzdem bewerben Hersteller diese Schuhe als „Carbon“. Sie dürfen diesen Begriff verwenden, weil im Kunststoff unter der äußeren Fiberglasschicht Carbonstaub steckt. Das gewebte Fiberglasmaterial außen ist aber kein Carbon. Denk vor allem daran: Carbon ist immer schwarz.

    100 % Composite
    Was ist 100 % Composite? Dieser Begriff deckt fast alles ab. Deshalb ist die Frage, die du bei einem Composite-Schuh stellen musst: Ein Composite aus was? Kurz gesagt ist ein Composite-Schuh meist ein Verbund aus Nylon und Fiberglas.

    Monocoque
    Ein Monocoque-Schuh ist ein Schuh, bei dem das Carbon direkt auf den Innenschuh laminiert wird. Leider nennen manche Firmen eine Carbonschale mit integrierter Fersenschale einen Monocoque-Schuh – das ist sie aber nicht.

    Kurz gesagt: Sei wachsam bei Firmen, die auf den Zug der Carbon-Technologie aufspringen und mit Schlagwörtern für ihr Produkt werben. Vor allem: Recherchiere und achte darauf, was du kaufst. Wir hoffen, das hilft dir bei deiner Entscheidung für einen Carbon-Schuh.
    Technologie - Durolite

    Durolite ist ein extrem haltbares und leichtes Material, das kleinere Stürze ohne Kratzer übersteht. Zusätzlich gibt es Durolite in einer großen Farbauswahl und drei Finish-Arten: matt, glänzend und metallic. Und schließlich ist Durolite eines der veganen Produkte von Bont.

    Das Verhältnis von Festigkeit zu Gewicht war im Design der Bont Skates immer wichtig, denn alle Materialien, die für Produkte im Bont Sortiment geprüft und entwickelt werden, müssen strenge Standards erfüllen. Durolite wurde entwickelt und ausgewählt für seine extrem hohe Haltbarkeit, sein geringes Gewicht und übersteht kleinere Stürze ohne Kratzer. Durolite ist außerdem vegan.

    Bont Ösen haben einen großen Kopf, der den Druck über eine größere Fläche verteilt und so Unbehagen entgegenwirkt. Kleine Ösen dagegen können Druck auf eine kleine Fläche ausüben und Schmerzen verursachen.

    Im eigenen Haus aus thermoverformbarem EVA gefertigt, ist das Bont Fußbett das erste Teil eines Schuhs, das auf den Leisten kommt. Damit es sein extrem geringes Gewicht und seine Thermoverformbarkeit behält, hat das Fußbett eine Härte von 65A und ist nur 3mm dick.

    Bont fertigt die am besten thermoverformbaren Schuhe auf dem Markt. Bonts eigenes Harz wird seit über 45 Jahren ständig verbessert; es ist extrem steif und wird schon bei relativ niedrigen Temperaturen formbar.

    Bont-Schuhe sind über die gesamte Basis verformbar, anders als andere Skates, die nur an ausgewählten Stellen verformbar sind. Damit bekommen Skater den anatomisch am besten gestalteten Schuh, den es heute am Markt gibt. Zusätzlich können Skater mit Bont-Schuhen die Passform des ganzen Schuhs feinjustieren, um diese individuelle Passform zu erreichen.

    Was ist ein Leisten? Der Leisten ist ein Nachbau eines Fußes aus Kunststoff, um den der Schuh gebaut wird.

    Hier bei Bont perfektionieren wir unsere Leisten seit 1975, und der Prozess geht weiter. Anders als beim Standard-Leisten, den viele Firmen nutzen, arbeitet Bont ständig daran, unsere Leisten weiterzuentwickeln und zu verbessern, damit deine Schuhe direkt aus der Box passen.

    Technologie - Innenschuh

    Wir haben Hunderte verschiedener Innenschuh-Materialien geprüft, bevor wir ein geeignetes Produkt für unsere Bont Schuhe ausgewählt haben. Bont verwendet Microfiber, Suede-Like und Durolite als Innenschuhmaterial. Weil wir auf Nachhaltigkeit und Tierwohl hinarbeiten, setzt Bont vegane Produkte ein. Kurz gesagt: Unsere Innenschuhe sind leicht, haltbar, wirken gegen Geruch und zersetzen sich nicht so leicht durch Schweiß.

    Technologie – Fertigung

    Skates von Hand und von innen nach außen zu fertigen ist eine Methode, die Bont beibehält und auf die wir besonders stolz sind. Der Fertigungsprozess ist deutlich anspruchsvoller im Können und zeitintensiver als andere Verfahren. Vielleicht am wichtigsten: Genau das macht Bont Skates in der Leistung zum Maßstab der Branche. Es führt allerdings auch zu höheren Produktionskosten als bei den gängigen Bauweisen für Skates.

    Wir entwickeln und verfeinern unseren Fertigungsprozess ständig weiter, um unsere hochwertigen Produkte bestmöglich zu liefern. Zum Beispiel wurden Verfahren wie der Einsatz herkömmlicher Vakuumkästen zum Aushärten von Carbon ersetzt. Heute nutzen wir zum Aushärten von Carbon Methoden wie das Umwickeln unter Druck. Das Umwickeln unter Druck erzeugt vier Atmosphären Druck statt der einen Atmosphäre, die du beim klassischen Vakuumverfahren hast.

    Inze Bonts, des renommierten Skate-Designers, Ingenieurskunst, hat es unserer Produktionslinie erlaubt, die Fertigung unserer handgemachten Monocoque-Skates so zeiteffizient wie möglich zu optimieren.

    Technologie – Matte Dry Carbon Basis

    Die Basis des Schuhs hat einen attraktiven matten Dry-Carbon-Look, jetzt mit Anti-Rutsch-Schliff an den Montageschlitzen.

    Technologie – Monocoque-Bauweise

    Bei Bont fertigen wir High-End-Skates mit einer Methode, die wir Monocoque-Bauweise nennen. Dieser Prozess verlangt viel mehr Können und Zeit und verursacht damit weit höhere Kosten als gängige Verfahren im Skate-Bau. Genau diese Methode erlaubt es unserem Skate-Sortiment jedoch, beim Thema Leistung den Markt anzuführen. 

    Wenn Innenschuh und Außenhaut eines Schuhs auf eine vorgefertigte Basis geklebt werden, spricht man von einem zweiteiligen Schuh. Ein großer Teil der Nähte an einem zweiteiligen Schuh ist rein kosmetisch. Die Nähte haben also keine strukturelle Funktion. Sie werden angebracht, bevor der Schuh gebaut wird. Deshalb kann sich ein zweiteiliger Schuh bei den Nähten auf die Optik konzentrieren.

    Die Naht an Bonts einteiligen Schuhen ist keine Zierde. Sie vernäht die Außenhaut mit dem dehnungsarmen Material, das mit dem Carbon verklebt ist. 

     
    Technologie – Polsterung

    Dieser Schuh ist für Athleten der Spitzenklasse entwickelt, daher ist die Polsterung dünn, dicht und ein wenig unnachgiebig. Genau das macht ihn aber zu einem superleichten und direkten Skate. Der verwendete geschlossenzellige Memory Foam nimmt zudem kein Wasser auf. Wenn du eine bequemere Fahrt suchst, wähle bitte eine unserer weicheren Polsterungsoptionen.

    Padding
    Technologie - Harzentwicklung

    Bei Bont arbeiten wir seit über 45 Jahren an der Entwicklung von Harzen. Wir haben ein Harz formuliert, das extrem steif und dennoch bei niedrigen Temperaturen verformbar ist. Außerdem ist eine kurze Aushärtezeit für unsere Anforderungen entscheidend. Und wir sind einer der wenigen Schuhhersteller, die ihre Harze im eigenen Haus entwickeln.

    Unser Harz wird schon bei 60°C (140°F) weich – der niedrigste Wert der Branche. Deshalb kannst du unser Harz so oft wieder erwärmen, wie es nötig ist. Das heißt: Du kannst deinen Schuh erwärmen und leicht an deinen Fuß anformen. Lass deinen Schuh nach dem Erwärmen aushärten und abkühlen, damit deine individuelle Form entsteht.

    Epoxid oder Polyepoxid ist ein duroplastisches Epoxidpolymer, das aushärtet, wenn es mit einem Katalysator oder Härter gemischt wird. Die Polymerisation, also das Aushärten, steuern wir über die Temperatur und die Wahl der Harz- und Härterkomponenten. Der Prozess kann Minuten bis Stunden dauern.

    Die Menge des Härters, die dem Harz zugegeben wird, hängt entscheidend von der Lufttemperatur und der Luftfeuchtigkeit ab. Deshalb haben wir einen Computer, der Harz und Härter mischt. Dieser Computer dosiert das Harz, nachdem er Lufttemperatur und Luftfeuchtigkeit gemessen hat.

    Die meisten Hersteller nutzen ein Verfahren, das in der Branche als Prepreg bekannt ist – dabei wird das Harz vorab in die Carbonfaser eingebracht.

    Beim Pre-preg wählt in praktisch allen Anwendungen der Carbon-Hersteller das Harz aus. Das ist so eine Sache nach dem Prinzip „ein Schuh für alle“. Der Schuhhersteller hat keine Möglichkeit, das Harz zu verändern, um es an die Anforderungen moderner Schuhe an die Thermoverformbarkeit anzupassen. Deshalb brauchen viele Mitbewerber hohe Temperaturen, damit ihre Schuhe thermoverformbar werden. Oft ist die Verformbarkeit des Schuhs selbst bei diesen hohen Temperaturen begrenzt.

     
    Technologie – teilweise maßgefertigt

    Für diesen Schuh fallen keine Zusatzkosten für Farbänderungen an. Du kannst die Farben, die du willst, und weitere teilweise maßgefertigte Optionen auf dieser Seite auswählen.
