Refund policy

Purchases from Bont Direct

This policy applies only to products purchased directly from the Bont online store.

If you purchased your skates or other Bont products from an authorized retailer or skate shop, please contact the store where you made your purchase. They will assist you with any returns, exchanges, or warranty claims and will contact us if necessary.

Returns & Exchanges

We want every customer to be happy with their skates. At the same time, skates are performance products, and once worn or used, they cannot be resold as new.

This policy is designed to be fair to customers while protecting the condition and value of our products.

Standard Products

Standard products may be returned or exchanged if they are:

  • Brand new
  • Unworn and unused
  • In original condition
  • In the original packaging
  • Returned within the approved return period

Products such as skates, boots, wheels, plates, bearings, and accessories cannot be returned for change of mind, sizing preference, or colour choice if they have been:

  • Worn or used
  • Heat molded
  • Mounted
  • Marked, scratched, or damaged
  • Altered in any way

Once a product has been used, we are unable to resell it as new.

Trying On Skates

Please try your skates indoors only on a clean, soft surface.

Do not skate in them, heat mold them, mount wheels or plates, or use them outdoors unless you are certain you wish to keep them.

Signs of use include, but are not limited to:

  • Marks on the boot, sole, or mounting area
  • Scratches or scuffs
  • Wheel wear
  • Plate or mounting marks
  • Heat molding
  • Creasing from use
  • Dirt, dust, hair, or debris
  • Odor or signs of extended wear

Products that are not returned in brand-new condition may have their return or exchange request refused.

MyBonts (Semi-Custom Products)

MyBonts are semi-custom products made in the colour combination selected by the customer.

Because they are made to order, they are not treated the same as standard stock products. However, we understand that fit is important and may accept returns or exchanges for fit-related issues provided the boots remain in brand-new condition.

MyBonts may only be returned or exchanged if they are:

  • Brand new
  • Unworn and unused
  • Not heat molded
  • Not mounted
  • Not marked, scratched, damaged, or altered
  • Returned in original condition and packaging

If MyBonts have been worn, heat molded, mounted, marked, scratched, damaged, or otherwise used, they cannot be returned unless there is a genuine manufacturing issue.

Fully Custom Products

Fully custom products, including products made to specific measurements, special requests, or non-standard specifications, cannot be returned for change of mind, colour choice, or sizing preference.

Warranty Coverage

Bont products are covered by a 12-month warranty from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship.

The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, accidental damage, misuse, improper modification, damage caused by the customer, or fit and sizing issues.

Fit, comfort, and sizing preferences are not considered manufacturing defects and are not covered under warranty.

Examples of issues not covered under warranty include:

  • Damage resulting from crashes or impacts
  • Scratches, cracks, or breakages caused by falls or accidents
  • Damage caused during heat molding, including overheating
  • Damage caused by jumping, improper use, or misuse of the product
  • Damage resulting from unauthorized modifications
  • Damage caused by using washers between the boot and frame
  • Accidental damage such as crushing, dropping, or other external causes
  • Boots that do not fit as expected after being worn, heat molded, or used
  • Personal preferences relating to fit, comfort, stiffness, support, or performance characteristics

Faulty, Incorrect, or Warranty Claims

If you believe your product has a manufacturing defect or you received an incorrect item, please contact us before returning the product.

We will review the issue and work with you to determine the most appropriate solution, which may include:

  • Repair
  • Replacement
  • Refund
  • Another suitable remedy

How to Submit a Warranty Claim

Please email orders@bont.com and include:

  • Your order number
  • Clear photos of the issue (annotated photos are helpful)
  • Your name, address, phone number, and email address used for the order
  • The product model
  • How long you have owned the product
  • Details about how and when the issue occurred

Providing complete information helps us assess and resolve your claim as quickly as possible.

Return Inspection

All returned products are inspected upon arrival.

If a returned product has been worn, used, heat molded, mounted, damaged, altered, or is otherwise not in resaleable condition, the return or exchange request may be refused and the product may be returned to the customer.

Return Shipping

Unless the product is faulty, incorrect, or otherwise required by applicable law, return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.

Original shipping charges, duties, taxes, customs fees, and other import-related charges are not refundable unless required by law or agreed to by us in writing.

If Your Skates Are Not a Warranty Case

We go to great lengths to design boots that fit as many skaters as possible. However, every foot is different, and it is impossible for a fiberglass or carbon boot with minimal padding to perfectly fit every skater.

If your skates have been assessed and are not covered under warranty, but you are still unhappy with the fit, the following options may help:

  • If the boots are slightly too small, they may be stretched using heat molding and a boot stretcher.
  • If you have a hotspot or pressure point, Bont Rip Jaws can often relieve the discomfort.
  • If you have used the product but no longer wish to keep it, consider selling it through your local rink, club, or online marketplace. Bont skates are highly sought after and often retain strong resale value.

This policy does not limit any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.
